Where to Find Us > Why We’re Attending Insuretech Connect 2018

Are you ready for Vegas? Next week (1st – 3rd Oct), we’re heading out to Insuretech Connect at the MGM Grand to show the world a new type of home insurance. Come and see us at Booth K1!

buzzvault Founder & CEO Becky Downing (@BeckyDowning1), MD of Insurance Product Charlotte Halkett (@charliehalkett) and Chief Strategy Officer Roelien Ruys (@Roelienruys) are all set for three days of hearing the latest Insurtech debate, meeting friends old and new, and – of course – unveiling buzzvault to the world.

As we dust off our lanyards and dig out our passports, we’ve given some thought to what makes this year’s Insuretech Connect extra-significant. Here are three big reasons we’re excited to attend.

1. It’s the customer, stupid.

We’re always being told insurance needs a customer makeover – but it’s finally time for the industry to deliver. That’s why we’ve created buzzvault, a hyper-personalised home insurance app built around the customer. And we’re hitting Insuretech Connect to show the world why we think it’s the #futureofinsurance.

Enough PowerPoints, panels and pitches about customer-centricity, 2018 wants products and services that solve actual customer problems. Come to Booth K1 and we’ll show you how we’re doing that for home and contents insurance.

And for those of you that can’t wait till next week, here’s a sneak peek at why buzzvault is different:

They said insurance was inflexible… Well, we’re introducing hyper-personalised home cover that reflects exactly what you own and how you live. buzzvault is a simple and convenient way to store and protect the things you love digitally – giving you a personal quote in as little as 15 minutes.

“Insurance is a grudge purchase.” Perhaps. But we’ve made buzzvault 100% mobile, so that you can get a quote, update your policy or make a claim at the tap of a button. And what’s more, we spotted a unique opportunity to boost convenience by combining insurance with home removals.

The one you’ve all been waiting for, claims. Claims has traditionally been all about high costs and high churn. Until now. buzzvault gives customers and carriers alike total transparency into what is covered – meaning a slicker, quicker, less costly claims process for everyone. Win!

If that’s piqued your interest, we’d love to set up a quick meeting. Find us at Booth K1 or send us an email:

2. Customers don’t want protection, they want to be enabled.

Traditional insurance gives customers blanket protection if something bad happens but with little on-going engagement or value – which isn’t insurance as it should be. We believe the only way to place customers at the centre of what you do is to get as close to them as possible.

With buzzvault, we combine customer data and the latest tech to wave goodbye to off-the-shelf protection and unlock a new world of smart, intelligent services. Leveraging mobile video, we give customers a unique digital record of their possessions – empowering them to craft coverage that’s right for their needs.

We wanted to share our story about how we’re enabling customers through buzzvault, so our Founder & CEO Becky Downing will be speaking on Tuesday’s 10.30am panel – we hope to see you there!

3. Insurtech is all about relationships …

We work in a people industry – now more so than ever. Insuretech Connect is a great chance for us to catch up with our partners at Startupbootcamp, Munich Re Digital Partners (MRDP) and Insly, as well as to make plenty of new friends too. Give us a shout, we’d love to hear from you!

There’s no more room for silos in today’s insurance world, nor is there just one way to service customer needs. So, it’s great to see the full spectrum of partnerships on display at this year’s event.

If incumbents, solution providers and MGAs work together across the value chain, then collectively we can take insurance innovation to market more quickly – and today’s consumers are crying out for this.

And, finally, partnerships are all about combining different perspectives – and what could be more integral to this than diversity. This continues to be a problem for both insurance and tech, but we’re heartened to see over 50 female speakers on the roster for next week’s show, that’s progress.

Thanks for reading and here’s wishing you an action-packed Insuretech Connect 2018 – we hope to see you there.
