Where to Find Us > Byte Night 2019

Earlier this month, a group of buzz team members took park in Byte Night’s Annual Sleep Out event, to raise life changing funds for young people facing homelessness, in partnership with Action for Children.

Now entering it’s 22nd Year, Byte Night is the UK’s longest running corporate sleep out, encouraging workplaces and communities across the nation to raise money by spending one night sleeping on the streets.  To date, they have raised over £12 million and have transformed the lives of countless children, young people and families facing homelessness.

At buzzvault, we are passionate about doing all we can to support great causes such as Byte Night.  That’s why we are delighted to announce that we raised over £1,400 for this years event, something we couldn’t have achieved without the donations of friends, families and colleagues. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us and to the staff at Byte Night and Action for Children for allowing us to be a part of this years sleep out.

We’re excited to share some of our pictures from the night, as well as our thought as first time participants.

On 4th October, the team set out from the buzzvault office in Soho to the Byte Night Sleep out at Trinity Square Gardens.  With plenty of sleeping bags and umbrellas in hand, we were praying for clear skies and mild temperatures.

The event kicked off with some inspiring talks from the Byte Night team, as well as a delicious shared meal and pub quiz, before we headed over to the Sleep Out site.   With a darkened view over the Thames and the Tower of London, we chatted with our fellow sleepers and set up our beds for the night.  Luckily the weather was in our favour and we managed to stay dry for the whole night.

With the sun slowly rising, we had to be up and out by 6 am.  Although we experienced just a glimpse of what it is like to sleep on the streets, this event brought to light the reality facing thousands of children and adults each year and the importance of organisations like Byte Night and Action for Children in the fight against homelessness.

Check out the Byte Night website for more information or register your interest for next years event.
